Lost ID Card Procedures and Guidelines
If you find a campus ID card:
Please bring the campus ID card to the Campus Card Services office (SUB 64) as soon as possible (preferred). If you are unable to do so in a timely manner, please call (845) 257-3034 to notify Campus Card Services as soon as possible.
Please note: If you find a wallet containing more than just a campus ID card, that should be brought to UPD as soon as possible.
If you lose a campus ID card:
When a campus ID card is misplaced, the cardholder should deactivate the card as soon as possible by logging into their my.CASaccount online or speaking directly with a Campus Card Services staff member. Once the card is deactivated, it cannot be used until it is reactivated or replaced. To replace the campus ID card, visit the Campus Card Services office located in the Student Union Building, Room 64, Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm (8:00am to 4:00pm during winter and summer breaks). The fee to replace a campus ID card is $10.00.
To deactivate the campus ID card online (deactivates meal plan and Hawk Dollars only):
The cardholder can visit my.CAS account and log in with their credentials. Then, select “Lost/Stolen Card” on the left-hand side and click “Deactivate”. If the campus ID card is recovered, it can be reactivated the same way.
To deactivate the campus ID card in person or by phone
(preferred — deactivates meal plan, Hawk Dollars, and card access):
The cardholder can visit the Campus Card Services office (SUB 64) or call (845) 257-3034 to deactivate the campus ID card. If the campus ID card is recovered, it can be reactivated the same way.
If you live on campus and misplace your card outside of the Campus Card Services office hours:
Please contact an RA for temporary assistance gaining access to your room. Please go to Campus Card Services (SUB 64) once the office reopens to get a replacement ID card.
Please note: If you believe your campus ID card was stolen on campus you should report it to University Police Department. The phone number for UPD is (845) 257-2222.
